Notes:
Monetary gift used to purchase new treasures for the California History Section. Samuel Lanhorne Clemen's, "The Jumping Frog. The Private Printing of the "Jumping Frog" Story, an afterword by Mark Twain. This Cheloniidae Press edition includes special binding by Daniel E. Kelm of the Wide Awake Garage of Easthampton and illustrations by artist and publisher Alan James Robinson. Another purchase was the 308-page volume of the title, Bibliography of the Arion Press: The First one Hundred Books. In additon, the purchase of handwritten letters from the late 1840s, many addressed to the late James W. Denver, second ex-officio state librarian.
