Gift of Robert J. Chandler, this rail reads, "Iron rail MFG. by the Rensselaer Iron Co. of Troy, NY for the San Francisco and San Jose Rail Road Company. Following consolidation into the Southern Pacific in October, 1870, this rail was relaid in the Colfax yard, where it was recovered in 2002."
